Facial slot Class II restorations: a conservative technique revisited.
نویسنده
چکیده
Conservative instrumentation of initial posterior approximal caries is beneficial to patients and simplifies surgical management. This article describes a minimally invasive technique for preparing Class II lesions while keeping the marginal ridge and occlusal surface intact. Eradication of caries by minimally invasive techniques and restoration of tooth form after such cavity preparation necessitates specialized restorative materials that feature adhesion to tooth structure and ion exchange to facilitate remineralization. This article outlines a conservative instrumentation sequence, followed by use of a highly viscous, rapid-setting, capsulated glass ionomer cement, for the restoration of initial posterior approximal lesions.

Microleakage Evaluation of Class II Composite Resin Restorations with Different Thicknesses of Resin-Modified Glass Ionomer
Background and Aim: One of the weaknesses of Class II composite resin restorations is gingival microleakage which contributes to postoperative sensitivity and secondary caries. The aim was to evaluate the microleakage in Class II composite resin restorations with different thicknesses of resin-modified glass ionomer (RMGI). Materials and Methods: In this in-vitro study, standardized Class II s...

the aim of this study was to determine the microleakage at the cervical margin of the class II composite resin syntac with and without a cervical amalgam base and to compare microleakage restoration at the occlusal margins of restorations and inferface of amalgam and composite.68 extracted sound permanent premolar were used.68 class II slot cavities were prepared in these teth.the teeth were ra...
متن کاملThe Effect of a Glass Ceramic Insert in Sandwich Technique on Microleakage in Class II Composite Resin Restorations
Introduction: The aim of the present study was to evaluate the effect of glass ceramic insert in the sandwich technique to reduce microleakage in class II composite resin restorations. Methods: Sixty sound human upper second premolars were selected and randomly divided into six groups (n=10). Class II box-only cavities were prepared in distal aspects of each tooth with gingival margin located a...
متن کاملThe stamp technique for direct Class II composite restorations: A case series
BACKGROUND "Stamp" technique is a new method for placing large composite restorations with accurate occlusal topography. It was introduced mainly to restore Class I cavities and erosively damaged teeth. This technique is indicated when the preoperative anatomy of the tooth is intact and not lost due to the carious lesion. A precise tooth-like filling an accurate functional occlusion is obtained...
